According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, some 1.7 million cases of hospital-associated (nosocomial) infection occur each year, resulting in approximately 99,000 deaths. Improving the air quality of patient care areas is part of the Joint Commission’s strict guidelines for disease prevention. UVAIRx instruments are assisting in this effort.
